On discovering a fire, break glass on the fire alarm.

Calmly, but immediately evacuate the building under guidance from the senior staff member and Fire Warden

Using the nearest fire exit all staff lead the children out of one of the nearest fire exit doors. Non childcare staff will support Green group and Orange group staff to ensure babies are put into the safety cot as quickly as possible.  The fire safety cot is located outside near the fire exit door of the sleep room.  (See Fire alarm zone chart for detailed plan of the nursery, this is located on the wall near the main entrance).

Once everyone has left the building, assemble in respective groups further along the pavement to the right of the nursery. If the assembly point is unavailable please locate to Butterfield Green underneath the canopy.
